This year’s first Collection Event which supposedly celebrates the Lunar New Year 2023 in Apex Legends was revealed to be titled “Spellbound” by Respawn earlier this month. The event is mainly focused on Seer who will be getting his Heirloom and also features a ton of more skins for most of the Legends in the game. It was also announced that the Spellbound Collection Event will hit the game on January 10, 2023. Like any other collection event, this one is also going to last a couple of weeks before it is gone forever.
Upcoming skins

Respawn also went on to confirm some of the new skins that will be coming to the game with this new Collection Event on their PlayApex Twitter account. Confirmed skins include a Legendary Crypto skin named “Cryptic Conjurer,” a Legendary Horizon skin named “Phoenix Rising”, and a Legendary G7 Scout skin titled “Blood Oath.” There will also be a lot more new Legendary skins for Vantage, Seer, Mad Maggie, Mirage, and more. A total of 24 unlockable items will be featured in this event. If you unlock all 24 skins during this event, you’ll automatically receive Seer’s new Heirloom, the “Showstoppers”.
Likewise, a trusted leaker that goes by the name SomeoneWhoLeaks on Twitter went on to ‘leak’ some info regarding the upcoming collection event somewhere in late December 2022. He went on to claim that he has confirmed that players will be able to earn 3 Holosprays, and 4 badges during the event. Furthermore, he also mentioned that Watson and Newcastle will be getting new epic skins alongside an R-99 skin, all themed to fit the Lunar New Year. However, none of these alleged leaks have been confirmed so take this with a grain of salt.
Game mode
The Spellbound Collection Event will be bringing back the Control game mode, where you get to play 9 vs. 9 and battle to control Zones on the map with infinite respawns. The maps for the upcoming Control mode will still be Storm Point: Barometer, World's Edge: Lava Siphon, and Olympus: Hammond Labs, just like the last time when Control mode hit the game. This game mode will be a limited-time event so don’t miss out on the fun!

Additionally, the update will also bring the option to create Private Matches for regular players for the first time! If you have been dreaming of hosting your own tournaments or playing custom matches with your squad, dream no more; this new option will allow you to host not only private exclusive matches, but also join Public ones to have fun without putting RP and sanity at stake.
There will also be a ton of new bundles for you to buy in the in-game store during this event. What are you most excited about the upcoming Spellbound Collection event?
